Round the Churches Sponsored Bike Ride or Walk

This event takes place each year in early September. The aim of the event

is to raise money for the NHCT, and at the same time enjoy a day visiting

the county's churches.

This is actually a national event, but is organised in regions.

The money raised supports the maintenance of these lovely buildings. One

appreciates how magnificent some of them are when taking time on a day like

this to visit, compare, and contrast a number of churches in quick succession.

This is made possible by those people that support the event by manning the

churches on the day to allow them all to be open.

The need for maintenance is particularly acute for many churches arising

from the theft of lead roofing materials over the last two years.

about the event, and I hope you will be encouraged to join in.

The route that you take and distance that you travel is entirely up to you,

but I have made some suggestions of routes from Guilsborough,

including the 50 Mile Challenge Route which those that tried it last

year found very enjoyable. I hope that more of you will take the challenge

this year.
